Angry Birds Space Blasts Off Into Success

Mobile gamers have shown their support in numbers for the new release of the Angry Birds Space title following its release onto the Android market just 7 days ago, racking up more than 10 million downloads within the first week of release.

The game entered into the market with a huge shadow cast over it following the huge success of the earlier, original Angry Birds title that has been seen to dominate almost any wholesale market that you can imagine off the back of the interest showing in the simple but yet entertaining game that had a reported 500 million downloads between release and today.

Creators, Rovio, announced that the game was set to hit the Android market just weeks ago, feeding out information, tasters and images of what fans could expect to find within the new title and it seems that their plugging of the title just prior to release has ensured that the game has rocketed through the Android apps ladder for the most popular free download app.

With the success of the game within the Android market already, Rovio have now revealed that they will be creating a version of the game that will be compatible with the Windows operating system so that mobile gamers that own Windows powered phones will also be able to play the game on their handsets too.

Those gamers who don’t have compatible handsets or tablets will be hoping that the free online games market will follow suit of the original title with flash game versions of the game being released for casual gaming within their computer browser but whether Angry Birds Space Online will be made available within the coming months is still to be seen.

Rovio do not provide a flash version of the game for players to play while online, instead Google Chrome created a version of the game in a bid to entice users over to their internet browser but flash game developers were on hand to be able to provide us with their own spin off versions.
